Should the Church pay taxes in a atheist Country

Should the Church pay taxes in a country where nearly a quarter of the population is atheist or agnostic, or should atheists and agnostics be expected to continue subsidizing the church with their tax dollar?

The church isn't subsidized. What do u think the founders intended? If anything, they should be tax-exempt without having to be silent on politics. Then, perhaps, we can have corruption in media and politics called to account. Big govt, big business, & big media are getting away with corruption because the church-at-large isn't loud enough.
I'm aware of John Locke's influence but he was not one of the founders. Read Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists. People came to America fleeing the state churches of Europe. Some of the new states were trying the same thing. The only people in America trying to create a "state church" are the people on the left. They're obviously not aware of that nor would they use that language, but everything they're after is what the church provided in previous generations. The void is now being filled by those advocating for a greater role of govt (having the power of the sword), from which the founders fled. The founders were largely religious men along a spectrum of deism.
